We
have a long history with over 30 years of experience
in aviation industry within the region.
Myanmar’s original and only national airline was
called Union of Burma Airways and began operations
in the 1950s when the country was still known as
Burma. In the early 1970s it was renamed Burma
Airways Corporation and continued services under
this name until 1988, when Burma was officially
renamed Myanmar and the airline was renamed to
Myanma Airways.
Myanmar Airways International (MAI), the National
Flag Carrier of the Union of Myanmar took off in
August 1993 MAI became the international airline of
Myanmar with regular flights between Yangon to
Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kunming,
Dacca and Jakarta. MAI continued to develop
regionally.
Our aircrafts are currently operated by an
internationally experienced team of skilled aviation
personnel.
Our code share partners to Yangon include Thai
Airways International, Qatar Airways, Malaysia
Airlines and Jetstar Asia Airlines.
More flights are being planned to new destinations
within Asia. Our flights to and from Singapore are
flown in conjunction with new Airbus A320 aircraft
and these flights are specially operated on a full
in flight service with complementary hot meals,
drinks and other amenities.
From the moment you enter our aircraft, until long
after you leave, you will be enhanced by the genuine
smiles, direct-friendliness and integrity of our
cabin crew, ground crew and support staff. Yet these
are just small examples of a unique cultural
heritage that still provides guiding principles for
the Myanmar people.
At Myanmar Airways International our mission is “
Excellence in everything we do ” As I always keep
reminding to all our staff that “ passengers pay our
salary ” and we shall offer our best service coupled
with the highest standards of hospitality and be
attentive in every needs with keeping our service
concept “ Modern Comfort, Gentle Traditions and Safe
Manners ”.
