At Myanmar Airways International (MAI), we strive to make your check-in experience as seamless as possible. Whether you choose to check in at the airport or online, here’s everything you need to know:

Online Check-in 

Online check-in is available for international flights departing from Yangon and Mandalay, as well as for all domestic sectors. You can check in online from 24 hours until 4 hours before departure. Once you’ve checked in:

  • Collect your physical boarding pass and drop off any checked baggage at the airport check-in desk no later than 1 hour before departure.
  • Ensure you have all required travel documents ready for presentation.
  • For those traveling with infants, enter the infant’s details during online check-in and associate them with an adult passenger in the booking.
  • Seat assignments from online check-in are complimentary but may change due to operational needs.

Airport Check-in 

To check-in at the airport, bring your E-Ticket or paper ticket, booking Reference number, passport and any relevant international travel documents and visit the check-in counters. Our check-in staff will assist with boarding passes, baggage handling, and any inquiries.

  • For international flights: check-in at Terminal 1, Yangon International Airport.
  • For domestic flights: check-in at Terminal 3, Yangon Domestic Airport.

Check-in Timings

  • Counter check-in opens 3 hours before departure for all international flights.
  • Check-in closes 40 minutes before departure at most airports, and 50 minutes before at Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh airports.
  • Boarding gates open 1 hour and 15 minutes before departure and close 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

For international flights, please allow extra time for security screening and immigration procedures. We recommend arriving early to ensure a smooth process.

Priority and Dedicated Check-In

We offer exclusive check-in services for Business Class passengers, Sky Smile loyalty members, and other eligible travelers. Simply proceed to our dedicated counters for faster check-in.

Business Class Passengers

Business Class passengers enjoy complimentary access to the Mingalar Sky CIP Lounge. Passenger can check in directly at the dedicated MAI counter within the lounge and enjoy premium services before your flight.

 Sky Smile Loyalty Members

  • Diamond members benefit from Priority Check-in and complimentary seat selection, subject to availability.
  • Ruby members enjoy Express Check-in and guaranteed seating for bookings made at least 10 days before departure.

Note: Sky Smile member IDs must be applied during the booking process, as they can no longer be added upon check-in.

We also offer priority check-in for families with young children, passengers with special needs, and those requiring additional assistance.

Checked Baggage

At the airport, baggage labels will be attached at check-in, and priority tags will be added for Business Class Passengers and Diamond Card Members. Ensure your baggage is properly labeled with your name, address, and contact details for your destination, and remove any old destination tags to avoid confusion.

 Important Notes

  • Passengers are strongly encouraged to verify and prepare all required documents for their trip. MAI reserves the right to deny boarding if travel documents are incomplete or invalid.
  • Make sure to respect the Check-In Deadline, which is 2 hours before departure for all flights. After this time, check-in and baggage drop are no longer allowed.
